The JLC Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface

185 years in any business is cause for celebration, but Jaeger-LeCoultrehas never been a brand to rest on their laurels. The Grande Maison will introduce Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface, a highly anticipated version of the Reverso Tribute. This visionary timepiece fuses the flying tourbillon with the Duoface concept, two techniques that embody the innovation and forward thinking for which the House is known. Complete with the brand’s latest manually wound calibre, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 847 and it’s the ultimate collector’s item, with an ultra exclusive run of only fifty pieces.

The perfectly proportioned timepiece houses technical achievements that are notoriously difficult to achieve. Developed in the workshops of the Manufacture, the complications are many—two-time zones on two separate dials, maintaining the tourbillon’s moving carriage and its sprung balance through the use of a brilliant ball-bearing system, all while still offering the freedom to showcase the design fully at back. The look of the Duoface has been completely revamped, resulting in a new layout able to hold these remarkable components in a platinum case measuring just 9.15 millimetres. The outcome is two hand-fittings in a single movement together with a grand complication, an endlessly difficult challenge for the house to overcome—with their trademark grace and style.

Created with the same Art Deco detail as the original 1931 piece, a blue sunrayed dial and silvered hand- applied hour-markers adorn the front side, with Dauphine hands that allow the flying tourbillon to take centre stage at six o’clock. On the opposite side, the grained dial and Côtes de Genève finishes house a second time zone, small seconds, or the day/night indicator placed subtly at 2 o’clock. With a simple flick, the watch depicts one of its two faces; front, embellished with deep blue, for a bold and elegant appeal, while the opposite side features a rougher, metallic effect for a more understated, streamlined aesthetic.

By combining the flying tourbillon and the Duoface concept in a single model for the first time ever, Jaeger-LeCoultre nods to history, looks to the future and offers their esteemed collectors a true representation of the fine art of watchmaking.
