Baselworld 2018 GMT Master 2

The New Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II

The first of these new offerings is the GMT-Master II in a collection of robust and precious metals. Version one is constructed from Oystersteel and seamlessly integrates an Oyster case and Jubilee bracelet with a bidirectional rotatable bezel and a 24-hour graduated two-colour Cerachrom insert in red and blue ceramic. The next is artfully made from 18 carat Everose gold (a first for the GMT Master II series) with the final version crafted of Everose Rolesor (a combination of Oystersteel and 18 carat Everose gold). The bezels of both are replete with a two-colour Cerachrom insert in a black and just-developed brown ceramic. All offer a power reserve of 70 hours, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and are waterproof to a depth of 100 meters.

The New Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 and Datejust 31

The new era Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 is rendered in Everose Rolesor (combining Oystersteel and 18 carat Everose gold) or yellow Rolesor (combining Oystersteel and 18 carat yellow gold) versions (both offered with a selection of dials). The case sides and lugs have been redesigned without losing the piece’s signature sophisticated and instantly recognizable aesthetic.

The 36mm timepiece has been sought after since its inception in 1945 as the very first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch. The Everose Rolesor design elements include the bezel, winding crown and centre bracelet links crafted from 18 carat Everose gold, while the case and the outer links of the bracelet are made of Oystersteel. The yellow Rolesor versions feature identical design principles, using 18-carat yellow gold.

The Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 adds dazzle to the wrist in the form of the earth’s most precious gemstones, assured by the Maison’s in-house gemologists and setters. The archetypal 31mm piece has recently undergone a re-design with new case sides and lugs and is now available in a range of golds and equipped with the calibre 2236, certifying peak performance.

Fitted on a President bracelet and guaranteed to a depth of 100 meters, the elegant middle case is cast from a solid block of 18 carat yellow, white or Everose gold. The crystal offers a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock (for effortless reading) and made of virtually scratchproof sapphire. The waterproof Oyster case provides optimum protection for the high-precision movement.

The newly redesigned Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 and Datejust 31 fuse form and function to perfection—for essential everyday style.

The New Oyster Perpetual Deepsea

Originally created for professional divers, the latest Rolex Deepsea characteristics make it pleasing for both aesthetics and functionality. A 44mm case with redesigned lugs and sides and a slightly wider Oyster bracelet and corresponding Oysterlock folding safety clasp are thoughtful new elements. Made of Oystersteel, the piece sports a D-blue dial with an eye-catching deep blue to pitch-black gradient.

The multi-directional rotatable bezel is replete with a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom insert in black ceramic to allow divers to monitor underwater and decompression time for their safety. This patented insert, made of an extremely hard and corrosion-resistant ceramic, is ultimately scratchproof, and is colour resistant to ultraviolet rays. The piece is waterproof to an astounding depth of 3,900 meters. For the true sportsman, in or out of the water.
