The partnership began in 2015 at “The Fight of the Century” pitting Floyd against Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather had Hublot embroidered on his boxing shorts, and in 2017 bore the name again—for tough rounds against Conor McGregor, where he ultimately reigned victorious. Created by Sophie Whittam, the talented director of luxury brand, Fight Label, the shorts became an emblem of the legend of legends—worn again for his 50th straight win. It was this detailed design that became the basis for the Big Bang Unico TMT.
Mayweather joined Hublot in Las Vegas, the setting where the fight took place, to unveil two new timepieces he co-created with the Maison—the Big Bang Unico TMT. This game changing watch features a strap in black calf leather enhanced with python and gold studs, mirroring elements of the legendary shorts worn by Mayweather for his latest fight. The champion’s gold appears in the details of the two watches; 3N-gold-incrusted carbon fiber dresses the watch from its case to its bezel. This is an innovative composite material; gold powder is inserted by hand into the carbon fiber layers before being compressed. At 12 o’clock, the letters TMT are in gold appliqué, while the sapphire case back is stamped with the champion’s ultimate inscription, TBE, “The Best Ever”.
